While Peru does provide a “Free Public Education” in grade school and high school to its children, it still does cost money – funds that many needy families struggle to find all the while they are trying to feed their families. There are mandated uniforms to purchase, school supplies, books, registration, etc… Even though this amounts to about $200.00 per child per year, this is a very high amount for a poor family.
We, at Restoring Hope International, believe that education is key for the progress of any nation and people group. Due to the high rate of abandonment of mothers by their husbands in Peru, these women are most at risk, economically, when left to fend for themselves in a male dominated society. It is our goal to ensure a good education for as many of Peru’s underprivileged children possible, with a special focus on female children.

Not stopping here, we know that it is important that a young person be educated beyond high school in the Peruvian context, due to the lack of employment opportunities in that country. It is therefore that we seek to provide education in technical institutes where youth can learn a marketable trade. In other cases, we seek to provide a college education to an underprivileged youth if their field of study will actually provide them employment upon graduation. For example, the medical field.
These young lives are the future of their country and families. We do not want their poverty to be a hindrance to unleashing the great hidden potential that lies within each of these lives. Would you consider participating with us to make possible for Peruvian children what we take for granted in our own western countries? Click on the below "Make a donation" button, and we will take care of the rest for you, for them. Thank you!
