Restoring Children International (RCI) is a faith-based nonprofit that operates a residential children’s home in Arequipa, Peru. We provide abandoned and at-risk girls with a safe, loving home, quality education, healthcare, spiritual guidance, and the support they need to build successful futures.

Our home is in Arequipa, Peru. It’s built to feel like a family house, not an institution — shared bedrooms, a kitchen where the girls help cook, gardens they tend, and space to gather and worship.

Rick Daviscourt — Papa Rick to every girl who lived under his roof — founded the home and dedicated his life to Peru’s most vulnerable girls, serving as a father figure to each one who walked through the door.

Papa Rick passed away in 2023. His son Tim Daviscourt now serves as President, and the home’s day-to-day care in Arequipa is led by our Administrative Director, house mothers, and professional staff — carrying forward exactly what Papa Rick built.

Girls are referred to us through Peru’s government social services, courts, churches, and community organizations. We accept girls who have been abandoned, orphaned, abused, or are living in extreme poverty with no other safe option.

We serve girls from ages 4 through 18. Many stay through high school graduation, and we continue supporting them with scholarship help and career mentoring after they leave the home — two of our daughters are in university right now.

Sponsorship is $35 per month ($420 per year). That covers the full cost of a girl’s housing, food, education, healthcare, and spiritual development. You can also make one-time gifts of any amount.

95 cents of every dollar goes directly to the girls’ care — housing, food, education, and healthcare. We keep overhead low by design: no US office, no high-paid staff. Questions about our finances are welcome any time — email tdaviscourt@restoringchildren.org.

Yes. Restoring Children International operates under Restoring Hope International Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 26-2265149), licensed and registered in the State of Washington. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, and you’ll receive a year-end giving statement.

Yes! Sponsors can send letters, cards, and small gifts. We translate all correspondence into Spanish and help the girls write back to you. This personal connection is one of the most meaningful parts of sponsorship.

Yes — anytime, with no penalty. We simply ask for 30 days’ notice so we can find a new sponsor for your girl.

Absolutely. We welcome visitors and short-term mission teams throughout the year — please contact us at least three months ahead so we can coordinate your trip. For the girls’ safety, all visitors complete a background check.

On-site volunteers serve at the home in Peru with tutoring, mentoring, and activities. Remote volunteers help with design, social media, fundraising, translation, and admin from anywhere. See the Volunteer page or just reach out.

We don’t just say goodbye. RCI provides ongoing support — university scholarship assistance, career mentoring, life skills, and emotional support — as our girls transition to independent living. Many graduates return to volunteer and mentor the younger girls.
