  Chapter 01 · The Reality

Before the rescue, there is the street.

Children in a marginal community outside Arequipa

The marginal communities that ring Arequipa — where family violence keeps rising.

A baby bundled in blankets

/  Abuse, abandonment, mistreatment, malnourishment — the words that describe the girls we receive

/  Peruvian courts and child protection overloaded, with an urgent need for safe beds

/  Girls passed from home to home — or left to fend for themselves

Less than five cents of every US charitable dollar ever crosses a border to reach children like these.

This film has a second act. It looks like a family.

Chapter 03 · The RCI Family Way

Rescue. Restore. Raise. Release.

01

Rescue

out of danger, into a home

Placed with us through Peru’s courts and child protection system, she gets what matters first: a safe bed, hot meals, and a door that locks out the past.

02

Restore

healing comes first

A staff psychologist and social worker, substitute mothers, and the patient love of God help her heal from what no child should carry.

03

Raise

normal family life

School with tutoring, medical and dental care, chores, birthdays, faith, and sisters. Not an orphanage schedule — a childhood.

04

Release

launched, not aged out

University or vocational training with our support until she stands on her own. Two of our daughters are in university right now.

Girls studying in class at the home
Vocational sewing training at the home

Study hall and vocational training — the middle of the story.

04
  Chapter 04 · The Ledger

No high-paid staff — a family calling, not a career

95% of funds go directly to the girls’ care
